"In this (pandemic) context, youth employment programs are renewing their relevance at the same time that results are becoming more challenging. Shortage in employment opportunities and acceleration of the labor market transformation give greater prominence to the characteristics of youth programs that contribute to youth employability and that are aligned with the labor market demands of the recovery phase of the labor market" (Vezza 2021, 5)

In recent years, training programs in Latin America mainly follow two strategies. On the one hand, the training prioritizes job training of young people to prepare them for the labor market. On the other hand, economic subsidies aim to encourage companies to hire vulnerable young people prioritized by these programs.

Regarding the target population of the programs, priority is given, for the most part, to vulnerable young people.
